When Kim Kardashian West one-upped Taylor Swift in loyal support to husband Kanye West, the news broke out all over the Internet. Hitting two birds with one stone, Kim K established her reign in Snapchat using the Blank Space songstress as a stepping stone.

Now the famous Snapchat videos, wherein Kanye West was seen and heard talking on the phone with Swift, may backfire to West duo.

According to TMZ, the 26-year-old singer previously threatened Yeezy for secretly recording their phone conversation. Taylor’s lawyer has then sent a letter to Kanye to delete the recordings or they would the rapper with their rights under California law.

“Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated.”

The California Penal Code Section 632, under the state's Invasion of Privacy Act, the videos Kim Kardashian West uploaded can be subjected to violating the law. Otherwise known as California's wiretapping law, it dictates that it is a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation.

While Kim K can be considered one with her husband Yeezy and can listen to all his phone calls anytime she wants, she’s supposed to inform the caller that she’s listening in. Furthermore, if she’s going to record the call or even make a video out of it, again, she has to make sure the other side knows as well. If Kim had done these which she didn't, the West couple could've avoid trouble and Taylor Swift may not have any legal grounds to pursue them with.

For now, there is no report yet as to Taylor’ decision, on whether she will shake it off or really sue the West couple. But who knows, maybe Kim Kardashian got some more videos to absolve them from an impending jail time.
