With Samsung sealing the IFA 2014 with Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge release, Sony too unveiled Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia E3. Nevertheless, wearable gadgets are also part of the killer devices released thus far in the same event. Sony has introduced brand new wearable gadgets that can give other competitors a run for their money. One of the gears in focus is Sony's SmartBand Talk.

The Sony SmartBand Talk is a fitness tracker and it comes with a 1.4-inch e-ink/e-paper display (low-power). Interestingly, the SmartBand Talk features an in-built microphone and a speaker in order to make phone/voice calls. If this is not interesting enough, the band is HD voice-enabled. This means, users can hear the callers' voice without any trouble. Also, the device supports Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity to facilitate synchronizing with a compatible smartphone, according to MacRumors.

Furthermore, the SmartBand Talk is IP68 certified that translates to having a water-resistant body. The in-built sensors include accelerometer, pedometer and altimeter in addition to supporting Sony's Lifelog app, which is a lifestyle-tracker. Also very interestingly, the gadget wearer can snap the fingers in order to answer an incoming call, says Pocket-Lint.

Even though, the gadget design is identical in many ways to the Samsung Gear Fit, the SmartBand Talk looks smooth, thinner and well-groomed when compared to the Samsung device. Also the visuals and images on the display/dial are very crisp and clear. Last but not least, the SmartBand Talk comes equipped with a good 70 mAh battery unit. According to Sony, the band can run without interruption for 5 days. This is possible only because of the e-ink/e-paper display on the band. However, with a coloured screen, the band will not be able to provide battery charge for 5 days, according to the same site.

Apart from the aforementioned fitness band, Sony SmartWatch 3 and Android Wear smartwatch were also introduced. These wearable gadgets can sync notifications with compatible smartphones. Also, the smartwatches come equipped with 4 GB of storage.
