Gigi Jordan, a former executive of a pharmaceutical company, claimed that her 8-year-old autistic son, whom she killed with a deadly dose of prescription drug, proposed for them to engage in a suicide pact.

She told a Manhattan jury that even if Jude Mirra wasn't verbally communicative, he typed on Jan 26, 2010 his wish to die on her BlackBerry smartphone, the New York Post reports.

Jordan quoted her son's message that read: "So let's just get out while we can. We r going to die anyway let's do it ourselves instead of them." The mother added that he also wrote, "We need to leave in a way we want to, not their way. Get the pills and try to do it."

The lifeless body of the boy, whom a teacher said couldn't write or speak, was found in his bed on Feb 5 at the Peninsula Hotel in Midtown. Beside him was his mum, 53, who also took a handful of pills but survived the apparent suicide attempt.

She also read on Thursday before the Manhattan Supreme Court another message from her son, allegedly teasing her for chickening out, saying, "Jesus know u r sorry he forgave u along time ago it's not murder...I think if you r doing it to save me from them its ok."

According to prosecutors, Jordan held her son down and forced a fatal drug cocktail down the boy's throat using a syringe. However, Jordan told the jury that after giving Jude the drugs, she had a surge of adrenaline, pulled him out of the bed, placed him on the floor and attempted CPR on the boy.

Jordan, dubbed as the "killer mum," claimed before the jury who were apparently dubious of her testimony based on observations that they rolled their eyes several times, that her former husband, Raymond Mirra, had threatened her life after she discovered his alleged swindling her of millions of dollars.

The New York Daily News reports that Jordan killed her son to spare him from sexual abuse by the boy's biological father, although she also admitted to the jury that until the son's death in 2010, she was unaware of Jude being sexually abused.

Here's a video clip of the boy playing computer games when he was still alive.
