For the first time in three years, "KID" Yamamoto will return to the UFC and will fight on February 28, 2015 at UFC 184. A promising underdog at best, the return of Kid was posted on a Japanese website where he is scheduled to fight against Roman Salazar. Salazar's UFC debut was made last October and he lost to Mitch Gagnon in less than two minutes and six seconds.

Kid Yamamoto has been declared as one of the great lightweight fighters in the world after having been awarded with one of the fastest knockouts in MMA history-a four-zero knockout against the brutal Kazayuki Miyata on 2006. Kid started majority of his fights and career in K-1. Considering his major fights and career in K-1, it's his successes were rooted mostly and can be attributed majorly in K-1. However, it was not too soon that Kid's success slowed down when he entered DREAM in 2009. Suffering major back-to-back losses before earning a clear victory with Federico Lopez in 2010, Kid finally proved to himself and to his fans that he has the right deal and stuff by signing in for UFC. This series of losses will be a cornerstone for the upcoming losses later in his career that he will not be able to bounce from.

This little stunt however didn't make hall marks for Kid as his debut or initial run in the Octagon was bombarded with loss after loss in the 2011 - 2012 seasons. Such loss was occasioned by UFC flyweight champion Demeterious Johnson.

Yamamoto's dreams are now but a distant memory and with his age acting against him, it is unlikely that his brilliance and victories are no longer a part of a credential worth looking over. This fight with Salazar in UFC 184 hopes to change that and return to him a distant memory long passed.

KID hasn't fought in 3 years and is 37 now, but Roman Salazar is a cable guy (no joke) & a part-time fighter. Fight was made for KID to win.

As to whether Kid Yamamoto will be able to bring back flashes of his brilliance or this UFC 184 will bring him another defeat, one thing is for sure, this will be an opportunity for him to redeem whatever memory of success he once had from the past.
