This week, the EU will decide if Greece should be allowed to receive the latest tranche of 31.5 billion euros in bailout funds. Delay and disagreement amongst international creditors over how to make Greece's debt more sustainable has raised fresh doubts over Athens' long-term fiscal health.

The four-day D8 summit kicks off today in Islamabad, Pakistan. The group, which represents the 8 developing Muslim countries, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey, will discuss measures to enhance trade and economic cooperation.

The Islamic Financial Services Board organises a series of workshops on Islamic Capital Markets. The three-day by-invitation event will be held in Dubai.

Tuesday, November 20

Eurogroup finance ministers meet to decide if Greece should be allowed to receive the latest tranche of bailout funds. Germany is adamant that European taxpayers who have already loaned money to Greece should not be obliged to foot the latest 31.5 billion euros bill. French President Francois Hollande, however, has said Greece deserves the next aid tranche, following a positive report by the troika.

The Bank of Japan holds a policy meeting as pressure for monetary easing intensifies. Prime Minister, as well as former finance minister, Yoshihiko Noda has since defended the independence of the central bank against calls for "unlimited monetary easing" by the opposition.
