The Cleveland Cavaliers rode Kevin Love early and cruised to the easy 117-103 victory over the visiting Orlando Magic on Monday (Tuesday in Australia).

Love finished with a season-high 34 points, 27 coming in the first half, when the Cavaliers had a slim 59-55 advantage. Love shot an efficient 11-of-18 shots from the field and was 6-of-9 from behind the arc.

After the halftime break, Cleveland poured it on, outscoring the Magic, 33-21 in the third quarter and was never seriously threatened on the way to the blowout victory. The Cavaliers have won three in a row after back-to-back losses last week while Orlando has lost three of their last four games.

LeBron James was more than willing to take the backseat on this one. The Cavaliers’ franchise player dished 13 assists and settled for just 15 points his lowest since the second game of the season when he had a dozen in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Australian Matthew Dellavedova, who started at the point guard spot, also had a big night scoring a season-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting with four 3-pointers and registering 9 assists and zero turnovers.

J.R. Smith also shot well from the field hitting 6-of-10 three-pointers and finished with 26 points and Tristan Thompson added 9 points and 14 rebounds.

Andrew Nicholson scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Magic scoring. Starters Victor Oladipo, Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier all finished in double-figure scoring but starting point guard Elfrid Payton did not score and missed all seven shots from the field.

The Cavaliers will be tested in their next two games as they face the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets on the road on Wednesday and Friday, respectively. The Magic will host the New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics in their next three games.
