Kevin Durant is considered one of the best players in the NBA, but the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar did not bat an eyelash in calling his teammate Russell Westbrook as the best player in their team.

"We let our best player, Russell, control the game. He had 16 assists, he was getting everybody shots, getting himself shots,” Durant stated in an interview with Thunder beat writer Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman, which the latter posted on his Twitter account.

Through five games this season, both Durant and Westbrook led the Thunder in scoring with the forward averaging 29.2 points per game and the point guard logging in 28.6 points per game. At 57.8 points per game combined, they are the highest-scoring duo in the league, leading the Thunder to a 3-2 record before the game against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday.

Durant also averages 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 blocked shots per game while Westbrook adds 7.0 rebounds, 10.6 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

The pair has exploded for the Thunder to start the 2015-2016 season. Durant scored 43 points and added 12 rebounds in a double overtime 139-136 win over the Orlando Magic on Oct. 30. In the same game, Westbrook had 48 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Thunder dropped to 3-3 for the season after losing to the Bulls 104-98, but Durant and Westbrook once again led the team. Durant had 33 points but missed 16 of 29 shots from the field with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocked shots. Westbrook finished with 20 points on 7 of 18 field goals plus 10 assists for his fourth double-double of the season.
