“Kemono Friends” remains popular as it was named as one of the most tweeted television anime titles so far this year. From Jan. 24 to Feb. 21, the anime show has already been tweeted 1,257,696 times.

News comes after Web Newtype released data from a research by KADOKAWA ASCII Research Laboratories. The research lab came up with the results by considering the number of tweets on the anime's official titles, as well as their abbreviation and tags.

The second most tweeted anime show is “Gintama,” with 314,270 mentions. This means the numbers that “Kemono Friends” got was four times more than the second most popular title. Other anime shows that are included in the list of most tweeted shows include "Saga of Tanya the Evil,” ”Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid,” ”Scum's wish,” "BanG Dream!,” and "ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept."

The most tweeted anime television series started airing on Jan 10. It is produced by Yaoyorozu. It features the events in Japari Park, a large zoo home to extant species, rare species, extinct species, cryptids and peculiar creatures. These animals were transformed as humans and they are all girls. The transformation was due to a mysterious substance from a volcano in the park, which is called “sandstar.”

The anime series features the voice of Yuka Ozaki as Serval, a cat from the Savannah Area of Japari Park. Serval is the friend of Bag (Aya Uchida), one of the main characters in the show. The former is typically amazed by the skills and talents of her friend as the two of them encounter new adventures.

One of the most notable traits of Bag is being resourceful. She does not remember who or where she is from. She does not even know her name. Serval was the one who named her Bag because of the backpack that she carries.

Crunchyroll notes that Japanese retailers needed to stop accepting pre-orders for the first guidebook for the most tweeted anime series. This is due to the huge number of orders that far exceeded the expectation of retailers.

Now, fans would be delighted to know that stores such as Kadokawa Store have started accepting pre-orders again. However, those who wish to order should expect shipping for the reprints to be later than March 25.

The anime series also has a manga adaptation. The manga is titled “Furai, titled Kemono Friends: Yōkoso Japari Park e!” “Kemono Friends” release in Australia is yet to be announced.
