The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, recently addressed the general masses in the United Kingdom through a video aimed towards eliminating the social stigma associated with mental health of the children. The video has been released to support the Children's Mental Health week, which has been organised for the very first time in the UK by a charity called Place2Be.

In the message recorded in the rare video from a member of the royal family, Kate emphasised on the need to give importance to children's problem at an early stage of life so that it does not become unmanageable at the later stages.

"Both William and I sincerely believe that early action can prevent problems in childhood from turning into larger ones later in life," said the royal patron, who has been associated with the charity since 2013.

In the video, the 33-year-old mother confessed that she and Prince William have together witnessed and experienced how children become susceptible to damage caused due to depression and the underlying reasons such as bullying, family conflicts, anxiety, sudden lost and addiction.

The video undoubtedly highlights the emerging need to counsel and treat the children suffering from mental health issues. Reportedly in the UK, out of 11 billion pound that are spent every year on treatment of mental health diseases, a mere six percent is used in favour of children. According to the charity's chief executive, Catherine Roche, three students in a class of 30 are suffering from a mental disorder, while on the other hand, another three are vulnerable towards it.

The video was recorded last week in South London at Bethlem and Maudsley Hospital School, Beckenham. The school teaches the psychiatric children between the age group of four and 19 years who are undergoing a treatment at the hospital.
