TV presenter Lorraine Kelly has praised the Duchess of Cambridge for her fashion style even when she was pregnant with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. According to her, maternity fashion has never been better not until Kate Middleton’s pregnancies.

The Irish Examiner noted how Lorraine Kelly praised Kate Middleton for her fashion sense during her two pregnancies. According to the site, Kelly “has praised high street fashion retailers for making better maternity clothes in the wake of the Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnancies.” The Duchess of Cambridge managed to keep herself looking elegant and composed throughout her pregnancies with her firstborn Prince George and his sister, Princess Charlotte. “After the Royal births, I think fashion for women who are pregnant is so much better,” Kelly said.

The 55-year old also compared how maternity fashion has evolved over the years. She recalled how when she was pregnant with her daughter Rosie in the 1990s that she “wore a tent with dots on it and a big spotty puffy bow on the front.”

“Nobody looks good like that. It’s got a lot better now because it doesn’t matter what age you are you still want to look fashionable,” she added.

Kelly may have applauded the Duchess of Cambridge for her maternity fashion, but it seems Kate Middleton also idolises the 55-year old on her fashion sense. During last year’s tour in Australia in April, the Duchess was spotted wearing the same “Lasa Poppy Print Dress” that Kelly also wore ahead of her. Reveal.co.uk shared a photo of Kate Middleton wearing the blue version of the dress during her public tour in the country. Lorraine Kelly wore the red version two weeks earlier on April 2, when she was photographed leaving Claridge’s hotel in London.

Apparently, Kate Middleton is also a fan of the British high street store as much as Lorraine Kelly is. While speaking at Lorraine’s High Street Fashion Awards, Kelly also revealed how British high street fashion is the envy of other fashion industries in other countries. The high street can reportedly brilliantly replicate those wardrobes being paraded on fashion catwalks but for a much affordable price.
