Jane Taylor, a London based Milliner, has been making head pieces exclusive for the Duchess of Cambridge.

The 34-year-old hat designer was recently interviewed by Hello Magazine , where she talked about how it is like to design hats for royals and how this kicked-off her career.

The first time that Kate Middleton was seen wearing her design was during the 2012 Jubilee Celebrations. She donned a light pink cocktail hat embellished with beads. Another time that the Duchess wore her design was during Prince George’s christening in 2013. It was Kate and Pippa, her sister, who both chose the hat for the prince, Hello Magazine added.

Taylor recalls how stricken she was when she first found out. She said she was going for a run and saw a billboard with flashing lights. A picture of the Duchess from Prince George’s christening was featured in the billboard. The designer described how shocked she was that she almost fell into the road while running.

The designer started to have a close relationship with the Duchess and maintains it by being tight-lipped, the Independent News reported.

News about how Taylor is making her designs exclusive to Kate became big. She said that to avoid Kate copycats, she is making it exclusive to her royal highness. Once she designs a hat for the Duchess of Cambridge, Taylor will not sell a similar style to anyone else for the next two or three years.

Taylor notes that it is an honour for her to work for the Royal family. She says that Kate is wonderful to work with and that the Duchess is a great ambassador to promote British fashion.

The Duchess of Cambridge is not the only royal who wears Taylor’s designs. Her pieces are also worn by other family members. Some of the other royals spotted wearing her designs include Zara Tindall, Princess Eugenie, Sophie Wessex and 12-year-old Lady Louise Windsor. She also did pieces for the Grand Duchess Maria of Luxembourg,Crown Princess of Denmark and Crown Princess of Norway.

Other than the Royal family, Taylor also had pieces worn by famous stars. Some of those seen wearing her articles include Kate Moss, Beyonce, Michelle Dockery and Rita Ora.
