The nationality of the photographer responsible for the topless Kate Middleton photos has been revealed, and surprisingly, the peeper is also a Brit. Does that mean the photographer has absolutely no respect for the Queen and the royal family?

A French photographer by the name of Pascal Rostain has revealed the identity of the snapper who shot topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge. He says the culprit was sent by Closer Magazine under an assignment to watch the Royal couple and wait for an opportunity to shoot. More shockingly, Rostain added that the photographer is an Englishman.

"The irony of this whole thing is that the photographer who took these pictures is an Englishman living in the south of France," says Rostain in a post.

It looks like Closer Magazine pre-empted the scandal as well. Unlike sensational photos that are usually sent by paparazzis to various tabloids, the ones of The Duchess without her top on are the results of being under an assignment for Closer Magazine.

"These photos were taken on the orders of Closer, who asked him to sit around for several days to take them" added Rostain in the same post.

Rostain also added that the English photographer had no say whether to publish the photos or not. The decision to release the photos is a decision the editor or editorial board makes.

"As a photographer, I take the pictures I want and let the publication decide whether to print them. What they choose to print is not the photographer's problem, but the editor's." further added Rostain.

There are still no updates whether the said photographer will face charges. However, the order for Closer Magazine to surrender all digital and hard copies of the photos were already given out and executed. Unfortunately, this injunction does not apply to Dutch and Italian magazines who have also published the said photos.
