Back in the days, red was considered "too bold" of a color to be worn by a royal. But since everything is modernized, the same goes for The Duchess of Cambridge's wardrobe.

It might not be her most favorite color, but The Duchess of Cambridge noticeably dazzles every time she wears red. Looking back at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Kate Middleton managed to effortlessly steal the spotlight when she arrived in a bold red dress from fashion brand Alexander McQueen.

She paired the McQueen dress, which was also previously worn by reality star Kim Kardashian, with a matching red headdress and nude pumps. Although in the battle of who wore it best, Kate managed to win the polls hands down.

In past royal occasions, Kate was also seen wearing a red blazer and skirt for the chilly weather. She mellowed the look with a black belt, black stockings and knee-high boots.

Although Kate Middleton prefers the neutral and pastel colors, since its not entirely bold and it is universally pleasing to the eyes, every once in a while, The Duchess of Cambridge makes bold style statements. Probably it is also the reason why she is considered a fashion icon in Britain and the rest of the world.
