The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are gearing up for their first 2016 royal tour together following the birth of Princess Charlotte on May 2. It’s believed Kate Middleton, who has been out of the spotlight recently as she spends more time with her two children in Anmer Hall, will join Prince William as they make public appearances overseas, including a visit to the Caribbean.

A senior royal aide has confirmed with Hello Magazine that the Caribbean could be one of the tour destinations of the royal couple. However, Kate and William are reportedly still undecided on the exact countries for their visit, although the Caribbean is deemed as a “strong contender.”

"We are aware of the report about the Caribbean, but the location is yet to be decided. There are other considerations, such as where the Foreign Office – who have a big say on these matters – want them to go,” the royal aide said.

The royal aide added that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are looking at either autumn or spring for their overseas tour in 2016 but “have not ruled out the possibility of them doing both.”

However, royal followers who are anticipating to catch a glimpse of two-year-old Prince George and his four-month-old sister Princess Charlotte will be in for a disappointment. According to the royal aide, it’s unlikely that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will bring them along during their royal tour.

"It was a one-off to take George to Australia and New Zealand last year and it is looking highly unlikely they will take their children with them on their next tour,” the royal aide told Hello Magazine.

According to People, Kate and William only brought Prince George with them to Australia and New Zealand during their royal tour in 2014 because of his age. The distance from their home in the U.K. was also considered. However, it’s reported that this time the Duke and Duchess are unlikely to travel far. Likewise, the publication claimed that the couple’s 2016 royal visit will also be a shorter one compared to their three-week tour in 2014.

So far Kate and Prince William have visited Los Angeles, Canada, New York, New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia during their overseas tours.
