What's in store for Kate Middleton's style?

After setting a fabulous example for expectant mothers everywhere, Kate Middleton's post pregnancy style is now coming into focus. Her fashion fans got a taste of what's to come when the Duchess of Cambridge wore a bespoke Jenny Packham dress for baby George Alexander Louis's first photo with his mum and dad.

Clothing decisions are probably not at the forefront of Kate Middleton and Prince William's concerns, but eventually, the Duchess will have to choose a few post pregnancy looks. Catherine's maternity, and even pre-pregnancy wardrobe hint at what she might wear for those eventual public outings.

It will take a while before any new mum can see traces of her pre-pregnancy figure. And with a busy schedule caring for baby, comfort is top priority. It's difficult to imagine Kate Middleton wearing leggings and tunics - she hardly wore trousers before her pregnancy - but the Duchess' penchant for dresses will serve her well during this transitional period.

Here are some style picks for Kate Middleton, inspired by the Duchess' favorite labels.

Joseph cut out dress, $370 / Zara dress / Alice by Temperley / Reiss / Mulberry pencil dress / Zara linen coat / Zara coat

Joseph was Kate Middleton's dress choice when she attended a private viewing of her Alexander McQueen wedding gown with the Queen. The cream dress was typical Kate - chic, hint of structure, classic colour. Instead of a closer fit, this blush-coloured, peter pan collar Joseph dress has a shape that is much more forgiving.

Remember that dress Kate Middleton wore when she met the Obamas? Reiss, the maker of that sold-out "Shola" dress has options for the royal. Kate, a lover of classic colours, will look great in this navy number. The dark color will conceal any tummy area concerns. The loose fit keeps comfort in mind.

A green Alice by Temperley dress is a good option for something bright. The Duchess of Cambridge had great success with the green Diane von Furstenberg dress she wore in 2011. This pleated number has a high enough waistband and a body-skimming fit.

Structured dresses may not be the best choice for Kate Middleton just yet. But, for something a bit dressy, this short-sleeved Mulberry dress, with some structure, delivers. With decorative embroidery, Kate can bring a little sparkle while sticking with slimming black. The same idea is behind the Zara dress. White panels on the side of a black dress give the illusion of a more streamlined shape.
