With the release of the newcomer Rashid of the Turbulent Winds for “Street Fighter V” last week, Capcom has revealed another character for the upcoming fighting game. The new character is not a newcomer like Rashid or Necalli, but she is a series character that has not made an appearance in a long time.

The new character for the game is Karin Kanzuki, whose first and last appearance in the series was in “Street Fighter Alpha 3.” Karin was revealed last Thursday during Capcom’s turn on the stage at Tokyo Game Show 2015, Gamespot reports. The new addition to the roster was revealed through a trailer seen below.

PlayStation Lifestyle reports that Karin possesses her own unique “Kanzuki-style” of fighting. Basically, her style is more head-to-head as she can close distances in a matter of seconds. She’s useful especially to an opponent who is cautious and calculative when attacking. As the opponents move away, it is suggested to keep the pressure on the opponent by further intensifying the attack.

Her V-Trigger is called Kanzuki-Ryu Guren No Kata. When activated, Kanzuki is capable of dishing out combos and follow-ups that could take chunks out of the opponent’s life bar when executed properly.

Story-wise, Karin Kanzuki is a rival of Sakura Kasugano. The latter has not been confirmed to appear in the latest iteration, but she could likely be added to complement the addition of Karin. She comes from the wealthy Kanzuki family, and she possesses an arrogant demeanor, as she makes her trademark laugh after a victory.

The next instalment in the “Street Fighter” series launches in spring 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and PC. However, the game will not be available for the Xbox One. There are still some characters yet to be revealed, one of which is also a newcomer like Rashid and Necalli. Capcom had also expressed their long-term goals for the game and promised post-launch DLC characters.
