Justin Timberlake was accused of being a Memphis Grizzlies “bandwagoner” by a Twitter user and the pop star responded educating the critic of his status in the NBA and his roots.

A “bandwagoner” or a “bandwagon fan” is loosely defined in sports as someone who cheers or follows a team or player only because that team or player is the popular choice or is the top team or player in their respective sports.

The Memphis Grizzlies currently own a 10-1 win-loss record— the best mark not only in the Western Conference but in the entire NBA. So when a certain Twitter user accused him of being a “bandwagoner” for the Grizzlies, Timberlake reminded him that he is one of the minority owners of the Memphis-based NBA team and that he is from Memphis.

“@JamesStendebach: "@jtimberlake: Grizzlies." Bandwagon.” Uh... I'm from Memphis and I'm an owner. Anyone else? #WigSnatch
