Pop star Justin Bieber has beaten Kim Kardshian’s attempt to break the Internet with her photos. Kim released a campaign to break the Internet in November last year through a series of photos published in the winter edition of Paper Magazine. While the photos generated a lot of buzz, Justin Bieber’s Calvin Klein photos made a bigger online impact than Kim’s nude photos.

Three weeks ago, Justin shared a photo on his Instagram site announcing that he has become part of an elite group of models and celebrities who have been given the honour of endorsing Calvin Klein underwear. In the photo, Justin is shirtless and is showing off his tattoos while wearing only a pair of white Calvin Klein boxers.

Justin’s post has now been liked 1.5 million times and has been one of the most talked about topics on the Internet since it came out. According to Huffington Post, Justin’s Calvin Klein campaign generated 1.6 million mentions across several social media platforms in just 48 hours. Kim’s set of controversial photos only gathered a fifth of the number of mentions in the same period of time.

Paper Magazine’s original post showing Kim’s bare bottom on their cover has so far only generated 10,300 likes on Instagram. Kim’s own post of her nude cover photo only generated 951,000 likes on Instagram even after three months.

Both Justin and Kim’s photos received a lot of positive and negative reactions. Memes exploded shortly after Kim’s photos were released while Justin was hit with major Photoshop accusations. Several reports came out stating that the images were manipulated in order to enhance Justin’s body and his bulge. In response, Justin posted a photo of himself wearing only a towel and defiantly captioned it: “Photoshop lol.” The follow-up photo also did a lot better than Kim’s attempt to break the Internet. The half-naked towel shot has now reached 1.4 million likes after having been posted for only two weeks.

Regardless of the comparison, there is no real rivalry between the two stars. Kim is still doing her own thing and is still actively posting revealing photos on the Internet. Just last week, she posted some photos of herself wearing only a fur bikini while frolicking out in the snow. In May, she will be releasing her first ever selfie book titled “Kim Kardashian: Selfish.”
