The trailer for “Jurassic World” promises that at least one genetically modified dinosaur will be featured in the movie, the Indominus Rex. However, about a week ago Hasbro released some movie-based toys that teased the presence of another hybrid dinosaur. The Stegosaurus/Triceratops hybrid, known as Stegoceratops, was believed to be another modified dinosaur that will be featured in the film. However, Hasbro recently confirmed the hybrid won’t be appearing in the movie.

Screenrant has reached out to Hasbro regarding the online preview of the hybrid Stegoceratops figure they released days ago, which, according to the site, led fans to worry that “Jurassic World” was going overboard with their dinosaur ideas. However, Hasbro officials have confirmed that the Stegoceratops won’t be a film feature; thus, the dinosaur won’t be appearing alongside its hybrid counterpart, the Indominus Rex, in the movie.

The Stegoceratops figure is said to only be an exclusive offer from Hasbro’s toy line. According to the site, movie-based toys only follow their films up to a certain point. After that, toys made under the movie toy line are created solely for marketing purposes. Thus, Hasbro’s Stegoceratops may be under the toy line for "Jurassic World," but it is not related to the film. It's said to be one of those toys which are for merchandise purposes only.

Cinemablend’s Eric Eisenberg also once thought the Stegoceratops toy was just a random dinosaur idea that Hasbro wanted to market. It reportedly seemed less likely for the hybrid to be featured in the movie based on the premise shown in the movie trailer. “Footage from the movie has made it seem like the idea of creating a hybrid dinosaur is a very new idea within the fictional world of the story, and it seems like the newly introduced Indominus Rex is the first result of the experiments,” he said.

Likewise, the trailer for “Jurassic World” also didn’t show any presence of the Stegoceratops. However, both Stegosauruses and Triceratops were teased in some scenes, stampeding around together on a field along one of the park’s gyrospheres. A screen grab from the trailer posted on the site shows both dinosaurs trailing behind the park visitors.
