Actor Johnny Depp has been in the movie industry for over 20 years now and the 50-year-old eccentric Hollywood star recently hinted about retirement from his acting career soon. Does this mean fans will no longer see Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 film?

The good news: Johnny Depp assured fans about appearing one more time in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie installment as well as "Alice in Wonderland 2" where he portrays the Mad Hatter. "I think we're all right in those categories," the actor stated.

Johnny Depp, who first appeared in the 1984 film Nightmare On Elm Street, shared that his life as a famous actor is "a kind of insane option for a human being." The actor stated to BBC News: "Looking forward to going somewhere where you don't have to be on the run, or sneak in through the kitchen or the underground labyrinth of the hotel."

Even though he is included in the highest paid actors list, Johnny confessed that he no longer sees himself doing films in a decade's time. "At a certain point you start thinking are there quieter things I wouldn't mind doing? Yes, I wouldn't mind that. I wouldn't say I am dropping out any second but I would say it's not too far away," Johnny declared.

The three-time Oscar-nominated actor is known for portraying "iconic loner" characters like Edward Scissorhands and the favorite pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. However, Johnny's latest film "The Lone Ranger" received negative feedbacks from a couple of movie critics where he portrays the Native American sidekick named Tonto.

In fact, Johnny had his fair share of ups and downs in his films and acting skills and he recalled about being close to getting fired from the first Pirates of the Caribbean film. The actor shared that Disney executives did not get his performance on character Captain Jack Sparrow which he based on "The Rolling Stones" rock legend Keith Richards.

"They couldn't understand what I was doing. You know? To the point where Disney wanted to fire me. They didn't understand the character. They were actually contemplating subtitling the film. I was probably as close to getting fired as anyone could be. I spoke to one of the execs at the time and said, 'You're right, you should fire me - but you'll have to pay me for my time'," Mr Depp revealed.

Johnny Depp's performance has been justified since the "Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Peal" achieved success at the movie box office in 2003 to which he earned the Oscar nomination for his acting skills as Captain Jack Sparrow. The success of the film has produced three more sequels and Disney has scheduled the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 on a July 2015 release date.
