Author J.K. Rowling apparently spent the Thanksgiving weekend solving fan-queries about the antagonist of her hit series "Harry Potter," Severus Snape. Rowling solved the mystery behind Harry Potter’s son’s name Albus Severus after a fan posted a query on her Twitter handle.

Hogwarts' Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and annoying teacher Severus Snape were the inspiration behind the name of Harry's son, scand Potterheads were in for a shock when they learned that “Severus” was included in Harry Potter’s son’s name. It was only recently that Rowling has cleared the air surrounding the name. Harry just wanted to honour Snape's love for his late mother Lily Potter.

“Snape died for Harry out of love for Lily. Harry paid him tribute in forgiveness and gratitude,” Rowling tweeted on being asked about the hidden meaning by a fan. However, Rowling's reply to the fan’s query was followed by a series of tweets by Rowling and sparked a debate over Snape's dark character.

Another big revealation in the series of tweets by Rowling was that despite it was proved in the end that Snape had no hatred for Harry, that fact persists that “Snape projected his hatred and jealousy of James onto Harry.”

“Snape is all grey. You can't make him a saint: he was vindictive & bullying. You can't make him a devil: he died to save the wizarding world,” read a Twitter post from the series of tweets by Rowling. She also told that Harry wanted to forgive himself by honouring Snape as “the deaths at the Battle of Hogwarts would haunt Harry forever.”

Giving her final message about Snape, Rowling said that just like most of us, he too deserved both “admiration” as well as “disapprobation.” She then dismissed the topic and got back to the fan who brought the topic up to politely show that the discussion on Snape was blown out of proportion.

“I need to get back to work. Have a good day, Snape-lovers, haters and in-betweeners all ,” Rowling said before signing off.

The British novelist often gets into conversation with hers fans over her social-networking handles to reveal interesting facts about her hit series. However, this “Snape debate” took up a major chunk of Rowling’s valuable time but the Potter-lovers were still craving for more.
