In the early 2000’s, one of Hollywood’s biggest couples -- Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck -- called off their engagement, and each went off to have happy marriages and beautiful children. However, now that those relationships are over, fans are hopeful for a rekindled romance.

As reported by Life&Style Magazine (via Latin Times), Lopez was the first to reach out to Affleck after her relationship with 29-year-old Casper Smart ended earlier this year. Meanwhile, Affleck and Jennifer Garner are supposedly finalising their divorce. The two announced their separation last year.

“With J.Lo suddenly single and Jennifer Garner preparing to officially file for divorce from Ben, the former couple has been busy reconnecting,” a source told the publication. “They’ve been talking on the phone for hours at a time. Their relationship was always intense and had a lot of passion. It’s like they are back together already.”

Both Lopez and Affleck are reportedly entertaining the idea of getting back together and picking things up from 12 years ago. In addition, it is speculated that the mother-of-two and father-of-three will go public with their budding relationship as soon as Affleck’s divorce is final.

Of course, neither party has addressed the rumours at this point. Lopez, 47, does have a great relationship with ex-husband Marc Anthony, whom she still performs with and shares custody with of their 8-year-old twins. Therefore, it would not come as a surprise if she has kept in touch with Affleck after their split.

Lopez has always spoken about Affleck and their relationship in such high regard. In a previous interview with People Magazine, she admitted how she thought that Affleck was “it” for her. She also shared that there theirs was a real relationship, despite the pressure from media’s glaring spotlight.

"I think different time different thing, who knows what could've happened, but there was a genuine love there," reflected Lopez.
