'Hunger Games' star, Jennifer Lawrence, and 'Twilight' actress, Kristen Stewart, have both been very vocal about getting the Peyton Loftis role for 'Lie Down in Darkness.' This is in line with the news that this first novel of William Styron is set to get a film adaptation.

Many are thinking that the two young actresses are both on the move to land roles, Why are these stars gunning for the role? Only because this particular role would allow them to get away from being stereotyped with their current movie franchise hits.

Other sources say that both Lawrence and Stewart are also seeing it as a great chance to win an Oscar.

Kristen Stewart expressed her desire to play the Peyton part on her interview with Elle Magazine's June issue. The 'Twilight' star is even eyeing Daniel Day-Lewis to fill in the father role.

On the other hand, the 'Hunger Games' Katniss Everdeen said in W that she is obsessed with the role. She even confessed that she is in best efforts to write the director who will handle the movie so as to convince that she is the best actress to play the part.

Even if the production will be an independent movie, the actresses are still seeing it as a potential project that can mean a huge milestone in their career just like when Meryl Streep did 'Sophie's Choice.'
