“Jane The Virgin” Season 3 is set to premiere in October on its home U.S. network, The CW. Is Michael Cordero Jr. (Brett Dier) dead or alive? Recently posted photos on Twitter suggest he is going to be fine after being shot by Susanna (Megan Ketch), who is actually Rose a.k.a. Sin Rostro (Bridget Regan). Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) has also teased Michael’s return.

‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 3: Michael Cordero finally marries Jane Villanueva, but --

Spoiler alert: This update contains “Jane the Virgin” Season 3 spoilers. Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman has earlier revealed the series will pick up where it left off in the second season finale. Without revealing whether Michael is dead or alive, Urman told The Hollywood Reporter Jane and family will “respond to [the incident] in an authentic and emotional way.”

The show’s writers recently posted on Twitter a photo of the first “Jane the Virgin” Season 3 cast table read, which includes Brett Dier. Based on that alone, speculators are convinced Michael is not going to die, or at least not in the premiere episode of the show’s new season. ‘Jane’ lead actress Gina Rodriguez also tweeted a photo of the returning cast. See the photos below.

Miles Gaston Villanueva joins ‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 3 cast

Miles Gaston Villanueva (“Young and the Restless” and “Chasing Life”) is showing up as Sam in the third season of “Jane the Virgin.” In its report, TV Line describes Sam as “intellectual and sexy.” Jane met Sam before her complex history with Michael and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) began. It is not clear yet whether he’d show up in flashbacks or in the show’s present timeline.

“Jane The Virgin” Season 3 will premiere on Oct. 17 (Monday) on The CW.
