The season 2 premiere of “Jane The Virgin” has been announced by The CW. The enigmatic Gina Rodriguez returns with the rest of the cast on Monday, October 19, 2015. The series keeps its 9 pm EST Monday night timeslot for the second season. Here’s what’s in store when the season returns: [Warning: Spoiler Alert]

Golden Globe Best Actress Gina Rodriguez who stars as Jane, opened up about the season 1 finale and the season 2 premiere in an interview with Time. “The capturing of Mateo at the end I thought was brilliant because it’s such an amazing cliffhanger,” she said.

During the season 1 finale, Jane gave birth to her son Mateo. She was unaware that the nurse that took her baby from her didn’t head to the hospital nursery. Instead, the nurse left the hospital and handed the baby to notorious criminal Sin Rostro.

“She’s going to find out right when we open the next episode,” says Rodriguez. She reveals that she’s excited to portray Jane’s reaction when she learns about the baby’s disappearance.

Unreality TV reports that Jaime Camil who plays Jane’s father, Rogelio de la Vega, has some positive news. He says in a separate interview that the baby is returned quite quickly. The baby’s return will be great for Jane but she will be a changed woman after going through the ordeal.

Rodriguez says that Jane’s strength as a woman is one of the best things about the show. How she learned to protect herself and the baby will be tested again in season 2 once she learns about the kidnapping and once the baby is returned.

It is still unclear whether team Michael or team Rafael will prevail. Everything is still up in the air when it comes to Jane’s love life. Fans will just have to tune in when the telenovela-style series returns on Oct 19 at 9 pm EST on The CW.
