The Geneva Motor Show 2016 has a big surprise for hardcore Jaguar lovers and car enthusiasts. The Jaguar F-TYPE SVR will be revving up for the first time in public at the auto event.

It’s touted to be the lightest, fastest and most powerful of the F-TYPE cars to date. Its biggest features is reportedly set to top 200mph. Auto Express managed to obtain a few more details about the cars features, such as the four-wheel drive and 567bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine, the latter of which is seen in the Project 7, a limited edition automobile.

The Jaguar F-TYPE SVR will push the limits, touting an acceleration of time from flat to 62mph in under four seconds. It beats the current Jaguar F-TYPE R by both acceleration speed and a boost of 25bhp more than the current model. The Jaguar F-TYPE SVR is also set to have an eight-speed automatic gearbox, an all-wheel drive and two models. There will be a coupe and a convertible version, which have been built with aerodynamic details compared to other car models. Note that the 200mph top speed is limited to the coupe due to the design, as the convertible type is only seen to reach a top speed of 194mph.

More than just a new rendition, the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR comes as a special flagship drive. This is due to it being the prized product of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations.

The official reveal video of the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR shows teases the power that the automobile was able to achieve as the product of the SVO. The transformation is more than just in the looks, as it also races down the road in one fluid move.

The SVO is a special division that is focused on delivering bigger ideas towards improving car models. According to Top Gear, while its goal is to be the AMG counterpart for the brand, it also aims to bring new models into the mix. It has three main thrusts—luxury, performance and capability—with the goal of creating unique models for the brands.

As such, exclusivity is the name of the game for SVO. Following the success of the Range Rover Sport SVR and the Project 7, it has now set its eyes on the new prize: the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR.

The department seeks to create high performance models meant for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. It is also in the business of creating limited edition models, as seen in the case of the F-TYPE Project 7, whose 250 units have all been sold.

“The new F-TYPE SVR is the first series production Jaguar to be developed by Special Vehicle Operations and benefits from everything we know about precision engineering performance and design,” said John Edwards, managing director at Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations in a press release.

For those who are interested in driving this acclaimed ride, the new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR will be available come the summer of this year. The global debut is set for March 1 in Geneva.
