Critically-acclaimed mobile game “Clash of Clans” turned three on August 2, and to celebrate the event, developer Supercell released an update that will give resources a week’s worth of boost at the expense of just one gem.

The announcement was made last Friday (July 31) over the official Twitter account of “Clash of Clans.” The offer began on the day of the announcement and will be made available throughout this week.

The latest gem boost offer gives “Clash of Clan” players an opportunity to maximize their source production rate of six gold mines, six elixir collectors and two dark elixir collectors for the entire week, at the cost of 14 gems for players with a level nine Town hall. On the other hand, players who are more advanced can boost seven gold mines and elixir collectors, and three dark elixir collectors for 17 gems. The boost will begin once the player has activated it. It will end after one week, regardless of whether or not the gem boost offer has expired.

AllClash has provided a way for players to fully maximise the gem boost update with a simple trick that could make the offer last for almost two weeks. However, players should note that the trick is only applicable to those with level ten gold mines or elixir collectors.

Upon starting a boost on the collectors, players need to wait until the last moment of the boost or before the offer expires to maximise their profit, before upgrading the collectors to another tier which cancels the boost immediately. To put this into perspective, players need to upgrade their collectors to the next tier so that the one week gem boost will be stopped. However, this means that players with maxed out collectors can no longer do the trick because they no longer have a way to cancel the boost.

The next step is to cancel the upgrade immediately after beginning it, and then avail the one week boost again. Cancelling the upgrade will give only 50 percent of the resources used back to the players, but the two week boost - or a second one gem boost for another week - will be worth the expenses.

“Clash of Clans” has been a worldwide success, with its developer announcing on AllClash that the game has revolutionised “the way mobile gaming works.” Since it’s release three years ago, “Clash of Clans” has been gaining more and more players by the day.
