With just about a couple of weeks left before Marvel’s “Iron Fist” debuts on Netflix, a new featurette on the superhero has just been out. It gives to fans Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), a nemesis of the watchful vigilante from Hell's Kitchen, the Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Madame Gao, who runs her own trade of heroin in Hell's Kitchen, will allegedly be making an appearance in “Iron Fist.”

The character Madame Gao made an appearance for the first time in the first season of “Daredevil.” In the series, she has been portrayed as an influential drug dealer running a heroin business guising as a dry cleaner. She is known to have manipulated Daredevil and Punisher (Jon Bernthal) to kill her only archrival, the Blacksmith. “Heroin is illegal, and as far as territories go, New York is only one of mine,” Madame Gao has been quoted as saying in the episode title ".380" in "Daredevil" season 2.

Known to be of Chinese descent, Madame Gao is also credited to having co-created the criminal organisation, the Hand, which allegedly killed Daredevil’s girlfriend Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung) in "Daredevil" season 2. The other antagonists associated to the group include Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), Vladimir (Nikolai Nikolaeff) and Anatoly Ranskahov (Gideon Emery) and Leland Owlsley (Bob Gunton).

The inclusion of Madame Gao in the new Iron Fist featurette hints at the possibility of a new villain, including other members of the Hand. While actress Sigourney Weaver has been confirmed to play the villain in the Netflix’s upcoming series “The Defenders,” Iron Fist will be seen battling Madame Gao and her group in “Iron Fist’s” first season which has been scheduled for a March 17 release.

The featurette also includes some vital information about Danny Rand and the time he was away in K’un L’un, training in martial arts. However, most of the information has already been revealed in previous teasers and trailers. “Warrior. Monk. Businessman. Iron Fist. Danny Rand is all of these things and more”— this is how the featurette’s YouTube video describes the character as.

Meanwhile Finn Jones, who plays Danny Rand aka Iron Fist in the upcoming Netflix series, recently talked to Empire about his role. “Danny has to deal with society’s reaction,” said the actor. “He comes back and says: ‘Hey, guess what? I’ve been in this place called K’un Lun for years, I’ve got this thing called the Iron Fist and I met a dragon!’ And everybody’s like, ‘What the fuck are you talking about? You’re insane.’” Finn added.

Netflix has scheduled the first season of Marvel’s “Iron Fist” to release in full on March 17. Meanwhile, Marvel fans can watch “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage” and “Jessica Jones” on Netflix by streaming online.
