Conor McGregor is set to fight Jose Aldo and aim for the UFC featherweight title from the latter is he defeated Dennis Silver at the UFC Fight Night 59 on Sunday. Although the fight is certainly going to happen, the venue of the fight is not yet confirmed.

The McGregor vs. Aldo featherweight championship venue has yet to be decided or voted but three locations are already considered namely: Ireland, Brazil, and Las Vegas. Among the venue suggestions, McGregor's native Ireland seems most likely to be chosen because of Croke Park stadium that is big enough to hold 90,000 fans. However, according to MMAjunkie, Las Vegas is also highly considered. In fact, UFC President Dana White tweeted about the Las Vegas suggestion, further saying that the Sin City would most likely host the fight.

UFC Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta explained the reservations regarding choosing Ireland as the venue of the championship showdown. For the Chairman, it's not just all about breaking the records, regardless how nice it sounds. According to Fertitta, it's the logistical challenges that weigh the heaviest when considering a venue to hold an event as big as the championship showdown of McGregor vs. Aldo.

Fertitta told MMAjunkie that there is no question that the championship showdown could fill a stadium. In fact, that's already a given. What's the most important to consider right now is the right time zone. Since it's a pay-per-view fight, meeting the variances of time zones among countries would make sense for the business.

According to Fertitta, each suggested country for the McGregor vs. Aldo fight has its own issue to be weighed accordingly. For instance, Ireland has a stadium that can hold as many viewers as possible, but, Brazil got the most favourable weather for an outdoor show. Brazil's time zone is also perfect for stateside broadcasting, but it may not be as perfect a destination to go to for Europeans who love to witness the game personally.

The issues between Ireland and Brazil can well be settled if the venue will be in Las Vegas. Any possible hiccups during the main event will be minimised in Las Vegas because mega events like the championship showdown are usually held there.
