The iPhone 7 that is speculated to release in September this year is not expected to come with major improvements over iPhone 6S. Hence, the rumour mill is claiming that 2017 iPhone will be introduced with numerous improvements. Speculations indicate that Apple’s smartphone in 2017 will not be called iPhone 7S, but it will arrive with iPhone 8 moniker.

The newest schematics of iPhone 7 has revealed that its size will not be very different from iPhone 6S. However, Apple is expected to introduce major changes in the design of 2017 iPhone.

The well-known Apple blogger, John Gruber, has mentioned in his latest episode of podcast that the 2017 iPhone will carry overhaul improvements. He has revealed that the iPhone 8 may feature an edge-to-edge screen which means that the smartphone will not have any bezels on the sides of the screen.

All the features that will be present on the front side of the iPhone 8 such as speakers, front-facing camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner and other sensors will be embedded under the display. Early speculations have suggested that Apple iPhone 8 will be featuring flexible OLED screen.

Rumours are rife that the Cupertino company has entered a deal with Samsung to supply it with OLED panels for next year’s iPhones. The inclusion of OLED panels on iPhone 8 indicates that the smartphone is likely to feature an edge-to-edge display, Mac Rumors reported. Ming-Chi Kuo, the well-known analyst from KGI Securities has predicted that one of the variants of iPhone 8 will feature a 5.8-inch display.

Since the release iPhone 5, Apple has been launching iPhones with aluminum chassis. However, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S that were launched in 2010 and 2011, respectively, were equipped glass panels. Early speculations also indicate that the iPhone 8 will be flanked with glass panels on its rear and front sides. According to Gruber, the iPhone 8 release date is likely to be set in September 2017.
