iPhone 8, Galaxy Note 8 to feature dual-camera setup, reveals leaks; AR can take Apple past Samsung
If latest reports are to be believed, Apple is going to make the iPhone 8 massive. Moreover, a case leak has recently revealed that the handset will have a touchscreen home button and a 3D camera.
If reports are true, this would be an iPhone’s biggest screen ever. The cases have been spotted on UK gadget site MobileFun. The site is more or less always right when it comes to predictions.
The phone may have no home button, and it may have been moved to the back. However, the back of the case does not have a button, which is surprising. Instead, it has a large vertical camera section that suggests a dual-camera setup. There are many who believe that the home button will be beneath the main screen and will be sensitive to the touch.
“This time in the form of their new case line-up for the iPhone 8, which are available to pre-order now! Showcasing the front and back of the phone, we now get a further look at Apple’s latest handset, thanks to these official Olixar renders,” writes MobileFun.
Earlier reports and leaked images suggested an Infinity Display along with a tiny bezel. There are small holes on the protector that suggests multiple cameras for selfies and facial recognition. The Apple iPhone 8 could be unlocked with the user’s face, reports The Sun.
It has also been revealed by two known sites that the smartphone will have a 2800 x 1342 native resolution. The resolution is dramatically up from the iPhone 7. It is now becoming increasingly clear that iPhone 8 is going big in ways no iPhone has gone before.
Meanwhile, Samsung also seems to be going with the trend of dual cameras in its Galaxy Note 8 handset. The rear casing of this handset has also been leaked, showing a dual-camera setup, writes Forbes. It will be interesting to see which of the phones takes the top spot, as both are coming equipped with dual cameras. Which one would rule? Will it be the Galaxy Note 8 or the Apple iPhone 8? It should be noted that Apple is also said to be focusing immensely on augmented reality (AR).
Could AR be an important feature of the iPhone 8?
