The upcoming iPhone 7 could come to fruition with the help of one of Apple’s biggest rivals, Samsung. According to multiple reports, Cupertino has chosen the Korean tech company to make the upcoming flagship’s A9 processor.

According to Bloomberg, the processors found in the company’s line of iPhones and iPads were manufactured by Samsung. Although this does not automatically mean that Samsung can use the A9 chip in its gadgets, it does entail that the company can get an up close and personal look at the insides of an Apple device.

Even though Samsung may provide the inner tech for certain Apple units, iDigital Times is convinced that the mega tech company from South Korea does not really need to get a hands-on experience with the nitty gritty of Apple devices just to get ahead in the competition.

Now that Apple is head-to-head with a lot of tech rivals in the industry, such as Samsung and Xiaomi, the competition will push the American tech company to make some unique yet interesting changes to the design, as well as some feature developments for the iPhone 7, as reported by Gear Burn.

Although the upcoming iPhone 7 is expected to become a spear-header in the smartphone race, Samsung has reportedly beaten Apple in certain areas. For instance, the latest Samsung flagship smartphone, which is the Galaxy S6, sports a built-in inductive charging feature. Rumour has it that this feature might be present for the iPhone 7 once it is launched.

Moreover, according to the report, the Galaxy S6 reportedly beats the recently released iPhone 6 when their specs are compared side by side. Although Apple has iMessage, Apple Pay and Continuity with the company’s other devices to show off, Samsung offers a long list of amazing features as well as raw power, such as seen on the 1440 x 2560, 577 pixels-per-inch display of the Galaxy S6.
