The next iPhone release date on 2015, which could be the iPhone 6S or 7, will not happen at the time that it was first rumoured to but Apple is likely to deliver on its first smartwatch a little earlier than expected, according to new reports.

That appears to be the latest buzz from Asia where the tech giant assembles its iOS devices, the Apple Watch including, as tech blog site G4Games reported this week that the iPhone 6 sequel will not arrive on spiring time 2015.

First quarter Watch rollout?

And while the next iPhone touchdown may be slightly pushed back, Taiwan's Economic Daily News (source for the G4Games report) is claiming that the Apple Watch could materialise much sooner as its manufacturer Quanta has apparently resolved the yield issues that was hampering production.

Volume production of the Apple smartwatch, which analysts said will be paired with the iPhone and powered by a unique iOS version, is set to start on January 2015 or a month earlier than reported.

In the same report, it was indicated too that Quanta has ramped up its hiring efforts and by the start of 2015 some 10,000 workers will be on board for the Apple Watch mass assembly.

Quanta is also expected to ship out a total of 24 million Watch units, in different models, by the end of 2015 though around 5 million units of the wearable device will be made available at the onset, G4Games said on its report.

It was suggested too that the Apple Watch will hit store shelves earlier than announced as Quanta and Apple have successfully secured supplies of the device components such as the processor, other inner components, the display and the watch framing.

Delayed iPhone 7 availability

As for the next iPhone, which G4Games said could be called the iPhone 6S, there is a high chance that it will not arrive at the same time that the iPhone 6 was outed this year - that is September next year.

Now whether it would be the iPhone 6S or 7, one thing is nearly confirmed - that the device will be powered by the A9 application processor. The manufacturer of this same chip, the report said, has yet to be finalised.

That would mean Apple is yet to place its orders from either Samsung or TSMC, both of which are reported to provide the tech giant's chip requirements for the 2015 iPhones and iPads.

This could translate to a minor delay on the next iPhone release date, which if packed with major upgrades could take the name iPhone 7 but if the refresh proves incremental it will likely become the iPhone 6S.
