The much awaited iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have been finally announced. It has come out to compete with smartphones from different brands. One of its major competitors is the LG G4 that has received good reception from buyers and critics.

The LG G4 was released to succeed the LG G3 from 2014. It has an impressive appeal, awesome camera and amazing display. The iPhone 6S Plus that has been launched with major hardware improvements is so popular that it can easily outsell the LG G4. However, a comparison between the handsets can reveal how competitive the LG G4 is against the iPhone 6S Plus.

Design And Display

The iPhone 6S Plus that measures 158.2 x 77.1 x 7.3 mm and weighs 143 grams is larger, wider and heavier than the LG G4. The LG G4 measures 148.9 x 76.1 mm and since it sports a curved body, its thickness ranges from 6.3 to 9.8 mm. It weighs 155 grams only.

The iPhone 6S Plus is available in colours like space gray, silver, gold and rose gold. The LG G4 comes with leather rear panels like leather black, leather red and leather brown.

The displays of both the handset measure 5.5 inches. The iPhone 6S Plus features full HD resolution screen whereas the display of the LG G4 supports Quad HD resolution. One of the USPs of the iPhone 6S Plus is the 3D Touch enabled display that can differentiate between deeper and lighter taps.

Chipset, RAM And Storage

The Apple A9 chip powers the iPhone 6S Plus. However, has not disclosed the details of the processor that is present inside the chipset. It is supported by 2 GB of RAM, BGR reported. It comes in native storage variants like 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. There is no option available for expanding the storage of the device.

The LG G4 is powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset that comes with 1.9 GHz hexa-core processor along with 3 GB of RAM. It is available in only one storage variant of 32 GB. However, users can add up to 128 GB of microSD on its external storage.

Camera

The iPhone 6S features an improved camera of 12 MP that comes with support for 4K resolution video recording and optical image stabilization (OIS). It does not come with many fine tuning settings while snapping photos that can be found on the LG G4, Tech Radar reported. It has a selfie snapper of 5 MP.

The LG G4 is fitted with a rear shooter of 16 MP. It comes with features like OIS and laser autofocus. The front-facing camera is of 8 MP.

Battery And Price

The iPhone 6S is equipped with a non-removable battery of 2915 mAh. The 3,000 mAh battery of the LG G4 is replaceable.

Apple’s new phablet is priced at $749 (AU$ 1042), $849 (AU$ 1181) and $949 (AU$ 1320) for 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB models, respectively. On the other hand, the 32 GB LG G4 is priced at $559 on Amazon.
