Fresh images of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model, also know as the iPhone Air, were spotted in the credible leaker site Nowhereelse. The showcased images provide the vital information pertaining to the dimension of the upcoming iPhone 6 phablet. Notably, the iPhone 6 release date is pegged for Sept. 9. However, we still do not know if the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will also be unveiled along with the 4.7-inch sibling.

The bigger iPhone 6 model's leaked images are sourced from China and they show the metal-clad 5.5-inch back panel. In addition, the images also show the exterior measurement of the phablet. The upcoming 5.5-inch device will reportedly come with a height of 158 mm, along with a width and depth of 78 mm and 7 mm, respectively. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 variant, on the other hand, will be 138 mm tall, 67 mm in width and 6 mm in thickness. Also, it is worth noting that the iPhone 5S features a 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm measurement, according to BGR.

When it comes to other reported specifications, the iPhone 6 will be powered a dual-core (Apple A8) 64-bit CPU clocked at 2+ GHz and an inferior 1 GB of RAM. The screen resolutions pertaining to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model will be 1,334 x 750 pixels, along with 326 ppi pixel density, and the 5.5-inch model will come with 2,208 x 1,242 pixels and 461 ppi density.

If rumours are true, the 4.7-inch model will use Gorilla Glass on its display, while the 5.5-inch phablet will get the privilege to showcase the famed sapphire glass. To corroborate the above information, Matt Margolis, a stock analyst at PTT Research Forensics, opines that all the units of 5.5-inch iPhone 6 phablet will come with sapphire display, unlike the earlier claim of only a percentage of the phablet will get the famed and arguably unbreakable sapphire display. It is worth noting that Matt is also an investor in GT-Advanced Technologies that supplies sapphire glass to Apple.

Other rumoured features include NFC support, along with mobile payment facility. Reportedly, Apple has partnered with American Express (AMEX), MasterCard and Visa to kick-start the mobile payment option via iPhone 6. In addition to the iPhone 6 models, Apple iWatch will also be announced in the same event. However, Apple has not confirmed any specifications thus far.
