The iPhone 6 release date this 2014, according to the latest reports from China, is in line for a September global rollout with the device unveiling and actual availability to happen within the month.

According to MacRumors, the latest chatter coming from China, where the iPhone is assembled in large-scale, indicate that Apple plans to uncloak its 2014 flagship phone on September 15, a Monday, then start selling the device on September 25, which is a Thursday.

It is also suggested that the iPhone 6 volume production will be completed by mid-August and bulk shipments of the freshly-minted smartphones will commence immediately afterwards to select markets.

The same report hinted that manufacturing activities for the next iPhone are underway.

But the given schedules, if long-time Apple watchers are to be asked, run in counter with the release calendar that the tech giant has been following in the past few years. BGR noted on its report that the iPhone maker normally picks a Friday as D-Day for Apple Stores to begin selling the new iPhone models.

So with the release template remaining in place, Apple is more likely to issue the device either on September 19 or the 26th of the month, which should be the latest target date, added the same BGR report.

Regardless of the exact debut time, the chance is high that both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 builds will hit store shelves as the same time, G4Games said in a report. The tech blog site picked up its information from China.com.

It was revealed in the same report that Apple will market the smaller device as simply the iPhone 6 while the phablet-size model will be labelled as the iPhone Air, obviously taking after the naming-pattern that produced the MacBook Air and the iPad Air.

The last two devices are known for their super-slim profile so the iPhone Air branding somehow implies that the phone will be of lightweight finish that counts as its new form-factor.

In a related news, Apple Insider pointed to a newly-leaked video clip that showed the iPhone 6 front panel, which highlighted too a design that is optimised for one-hand use. It should be noted that Apple CEO Tim Cook has previously emphasised that his company will only venture into the jumbo-size phone once the technology for large-screen devices that adhere to one-hand navigation has been perfected.

Since it is nearly confirmed that two iPhones are coming out with bigger screens, it is assumed that the same requirement set by Cook has been met and the devices will indeed touch down very soon with one-hand use as one of its killer features.

Also expected from the twin iPhone 6 release dates this 2014 are the feature-packed iOS 8, the multitasking-friendly 64-bit A8 processing chip, a killer camera combo with optical image stabilisation and a Liquidmetal-framed casing that is sapphire-coated for extra-strong protection.
