The Apple iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are currently unavailable for pre-orders. PhoneArena claims that those who managed to pre-order on Sept. 12 were already that their handsets are already in transit.

Even though shipping process of the new iPhone 6 models have begun, the handsets are not expected to reach the customers before the Sept. 19 launch date. The pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus began at 12 am PT, on Sept 12. Until 02:14 am, Apple's website remained down because of huge number of customers accessing the site simultaneously.

According to TechnoBuffalo, Verizon has notified its customers about handset shipment details by sending them tracking numbers. Handsets have already left Verizon's warehouse and are expected to be at the distribution center at FedEx soon. They will reach the customers earliest by coming Friday.

The Verge states that the pre-orders for iPhone 6 and the IPhone 6 Plus created a new record as customers are quite excited about purchasing the larger iPhones. AT&T has stated that compared to the overnight pre-orders of 2013's iPhone 5S and 2012's iPhone 5, they were experiencing very high demand at such an early stage for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phablet.

It is too early to predict whether the sales of the new iPhone 6 models will break last year's pre-order records. However, it is the very first time that Apple is offering large-sized iPhones and with the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus model, the company has entered the phablet market to take on the likes of Galaxy Note 4, HTC One M8 and Xperia Z3.

TechnoBuffalo claims that in the past, carriers have tried to ship the pre-ordered iPhones before the launch date. However, Apple has always made sure that it does not happen. According to PhoneArena, Apple has timed the shipping of the iPhone 6 models so well this time around that the pre-ordered handsets are expected to be at the doorstep of the customers on the Sept. 19 launch date.

Apple and wireless carriers are not taking new pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The Cupertino company and the carrier companies have stated that the new stocks are going to arrive in the coming month.
