Good news jailbreak fans as popular iDevice hacker iH8Sn0w has proven that Apple's latest iOS 8.1.1 is jailbreakable, likely leading to a public release of very soon.

As first pointed out by iDownloadBlog.com, iH8Sn0w generously shared to the world the likelihood of the next iOS 8 jailbreak coming out via his YouTube channel. The clip purportedly showcased an iPad 3 with the untethered jailbreak of 8.1.1.

Next jailbreak soon?

The news that iOS 8.1.1 is jailbreakable came out as Apple announced this week that its latest software update has effectively plugged the iOS holes used by the Pangu Team of China as exploits.

The iOS jailbreak has been effectively quashed as Apple even cited the Chinese hackers for identifying the iOS 8.1 vulnerabilities. Pangu was credited for the discovery of three exploits - all of which have addressed, the tech giant said.

However, iH8Sn0w's latest efforts appear to show that a bit more of poking around and iOS 8.1.1 could be opened up for hacking. The dev's latest work seems to suggest that a new jailbreak release is only a matter of time.

Unlikely from iH8Sn0w

Yet while iH8Sn0w has successfully unlocked 8.1.1, there is solid assurance that he will continue on with what he'd started and make public a jailbreak tool soon. "It's worth pointing out that iH8sn0w has in the past demonstrated jailbreaks that never saw the light of day," iDownloadBlog.com said on its report.

And basing on his track record, it is more likely that the hacker is merely showing the way and will leave the usual jailbreak providers to complete the work.

As iH8Sn0w himself has noted - his jailbreak has existing limitations that the likes of Pangu and Team Evad3rs must resolve to come out with a working jailbreak. For one, the unlocker at its current state works only on 30-pin iOS devices.

That means the jailbreak is a no-go for iPhone 6, 6 Plus and 2014 iPad users (as well as older models that come with Apple's proprietary Lightning connectivity port).

Keep off from iOS 8.1.1

Meantime, best thing to do for now is stay away from iOS 8.1.1 while waiting for the next jailbreak that most likely will be made from. When - nobody can tell for now.

Jailbreak experts are also advising fans to who jumped to 8.1.1 to downgrade now while it remains possible. Apple is still signing iOS 8.1 but iDownloadBlog.com warned that this will not last for long.

Failure to downgrade quick could mean one thing - a complete shut off from the jailbreak world and its benefits though it could be that that Pangu will pull another surprise and unpack its new jailbreak sooner than expected.
