Seeing an iOS 8 jailbreak release date anytime soon is next to a miracle as a new report suggests that major hacking teams are either abandoning the project or staring on a blank wall.

The most reliable provider of the next iPhone, iPod and iPad unlocker appears not too keen on playing the jailbreak game this 2014. Team Evad3rs has run out of passion, according to iDigitalTimes, and some of the members are even exploring the possibility of rechanneling their attention on jailbreaking Windows phone.

Evad3r @pod2g told the publication that poking into iPhones has become a boring task. The dev added that in order to go through the arduous task of identifying and working around on operating system exploits, the heart and mind must be fully involved.

"You have to have a passion," @pod2g declared, somehow indicating that the fire that fuelled up the creation of Evasi0n7 or iOS 7 jailbreak was not around anymore.

"For me at least, there must be some intrigue, some challenge ... iOS is boring for me. I am getting sick of iPhones," the hacker stressed.

His sentiments seem to have infected key jailbreak contributor @iH8sn0w, who views jailbreaking work as not worth his while, treating it as more of a burden.

"I haven't really been interested in public jailbreaks lately because of how much of a hassle it is to make them and publish them," @iH8sn0w told iDigitalTimes.

With the Evad3rs and other known jailbreakers running out of steam or passion as they say, the next logical source of the iOS 8 unlocker is the last provider, that is of iOS 7 jailbreak - the Pangu team from China.

The last words from the Chinese hackers were not too detailed. The group simply stated that jailbreak is now underway and the likelihood is the tool that jailbreak fans are eagerly waiting would materialise by Fall of 2014 at the earliest.

And there was no update afterwards.

The only assurance that jailbreaking iOS 8 is possible was the success shown before with the beta builds of the software.

Plus @MuscleNerd even dropped a clue that doors may have been left open by Apple.

So at this point the only hope of a real jailbreak happening rests on the Chinese with the Evad3rs still grappling for the inspiration to start and finish Evasi0n8.

As hacking icon @p0sixninja put it in an interview with iDigitalTimes: "It's China (the Pangu Team) or bust basically." That is like saying - Pangu falters too and expect no iOS 8 jailbreak release date, not this 2014 and not next year.
