Ronald Noble made the admission in a speech before the 1st INTERPOL Information Security Conference held in Hong Kong last week.

Noble said one of the impersonators who tried to get information about INTERPOL's Operation Infra Red using the fake FaceBook account failed to do so as the agency's Incidence Response Team learned.

Operation Infra Red led to the arrest of 130 fugitives facing murder, paedophilia, drug trafficking and money laundering charges in their countries.

Noble warned that cyberspace identity theft may be one of the most dangerous criminal threats INTERPOL will face. He told conference delegates that this is one reason why national law enforcement agencies should share their experience constantly.
