Malaysian-Australian director James Wan is giving horror fans a double dose of horror movies to watch this 2013. His highly-successful possession movie The Conjuring has just been released raking in a total of $95 million in ticket sales worldwide.

Meanwhile, his second horror feature for this year is the second installment of 2011's Insidious, a supernatural horror thriller that follows the life of a couple whose son unexplainably went into a state of coma allowing his body to become available for ghosts and demons to enter his body.

Insidious: Chapter 2 reunites Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne as Josh and Renai Lambert in their quest to end the doom of the spirits into their lives. The movie also brings together the creative team of Wan and writer Leigh Whannell who were behind the other horror flicks, Insidious and Saw.

Whannell tells Screen Rant in 2011 that his and Wan's process in filmmaking began at film school."Se have this long history of friendship and kind of mucking around and making videos before we started getting into the more serious realm of actual filmmaking.

"We tend to get together and talk about ideas, and once we have an idea that we both like – and that’s the key word, “both” – because usually one of us will have an idea, but the other one might not be as into it…"

This is also the third time for Patrick Wilson to work with the horror director. He portrayed the role of Ed Warren in The Conjuring.

Insidious: Chapter 2 will have its worldwide release in September. The Australian release date has yet to be confirmed.
