Ian Somerhalder’s fans have noticed that there is something strange with “The Vampire Diaries,” or "TVD" actor’s Twitter account on Tuesday evening. The fans immediately picked up that Somerhalder’s account has been hacked because one of the series of tweets had the 36-year-old actor, who is now married to Nikki Reed, expressing his love for ex-girlfriend and former "TVD" co-star Nina Dobrev.

E! News reports that the hacker used Somerhalder’s Twitter account for approximately 20 minutes on Tuesday night before apologising for his or her act. Eventually, the hacker deleted the posted messages, which include the “I love you” message to Nina Dobrev.

“Before I get locked out, I just wanna say this has been a great experience,” the hacker posted. Click here to see the hacker’s other tweets using Somerhalder’s account.

The fans knew that the tweets were a prank since Somerhalder and Dobrev have already moved on since their breakup in 2013. Somerhalder is now happily married to “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed while Dobrev is in a relationship with Austin Stowell.

Meanwhile, the recent Twitter hacking incident is not the first time for Somerhalder. In summer 2013, Somerhalder had an online exchange with the person who hacked his Twitter account that has millions of followers.

“You are an a** my friend. Get out of my acct,” Somerhalder posted at the time. The hacker apologised to Somerhalder after explaining that it was just for fun.

Somerhalder accepted the apology but he was still not amused. “Really not cool... I appreciate the message though.. Yes please stop. Have a great day,” Somerhalder tweeted.

Last April, a hacker took control of Somerhalder’s Twitter account again. Somerhalder once again expressed disappointment over the incident on his official Twitter account @iansomerhalder.

“I'm in the process of finding out who it was-PLEASE be respectful with your comments. Truly respectful!” Somerhalder shared to his millions of followers at the time. As for the latest hacking incident, Somerhalder has not commented or complained on social media.

Meanwhile, fans can watch Ian Somerhalder return as the vampire Damon Salvatore in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, which is scheduled to premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 8, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
