Images of "Vamprie Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder in Harper's Bazaar China photo shoot shows a dark look of the actor comparable to his vampire character Damon Salvatore. Photographer Yin Chao captured the heartthrob actor oozing with sex appeal as he sports some stylish wardrobe comprised of tailored suits and leather.

The photo shoot will certainly link Ian Somerhalder's name once again to the "Fifty Shades of Grey" fan-casting polls as dark billionaire Christian Grey. Mr Somerhalder really exudes a debonair and mischievous look that can make women weak with his smoldering gaze.

In the Digital Spy report, Ian Somerhalder confessed about portraying the "Vampire Diaries" character Damon Salvatore can be "brutal" for him. The 34-year-old actor shared that a few scenes from the hit CW TV series can bring a huge emotional effect on him.

"Don't for a second think it's always cotton candy. Sometimes it really hurts, and a lot of stuff that Damon goes through is super cathartic for me as an individual. It's not always pretty - it stirs up stuff," Ian stated.

The actor further added: "You are basically muddying the water all the time. You are pulling from all these things in your life that are not necessarily good, so it's basically like getting paid for therapy instead of going and sitting in someone's chair and going, 'Tell me about how you feel'."

Moreover, Ian Somerhalder admitted about being amazed with the force of his emotional reaction while filming the "Vampire Diaries" scenes. "It's not always fun. Sometimes it's brutal and I'll walk off set and I'll cry for ten minutes alone in my trailer and I look at myself in the mirror and go, 'What the hell are you doing? Why are you crying in the trailer? Go have a coffee or something'. But for me, that's acting - that's what I do every day. It's pretty weird," Ian explained.

Ian Somerhalder will return as Damon Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 when it premieres on October 3 at the CW Television Network with the spin-off series "The Originals" next.
