It’s all about dating in this week’s episode of “I Am Cait.” Caitlyn Jenner is still confused about her dating preference and her other transgender friends open up about the problems they have faced in their own dating life.

The episode starts with Caitlyn and her assistant Courtney, speaking about dating. Courtney’s boyfriend Johnie arrives to pick her up so they decide to take the opportunity to ask a heterosexual guy about his views.

Caitlyn admits that dating as a heterosexual is nothing compared to being transgender. Johnie speaks openly and says that if one is trans, then it is something that should have been on the table from the first meeting with a potential lover. Caitlyn agrees and says that one can’t just spring the information on a guy after a few dates. Johnie also said that if he suddenly found out that his girlfriend is trans, he would probably be more inclined to continue only as friends.

After speaking to Courtney and Johnie, Caitlyn went out for lunch with her close friend, Candis Cayne. Also a transgender woman, Candis has had a lot more experience than Caitlyn. She admits that it is very tough to find a partner.

They discuss small issues like dating etiquette and other trivial matters but later in the show, Candis really opens up about her love life. She tells Caitlyn about her failed relationships. Candis says that she has given up on finding love because as a trans woman, her pool of men has become very narrow.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn is being pressured to find her own place in the dating scene. It is a well-known fact that as Bruce, she had been married to heterosexual women three times. She has also always maintained that she has only been with women. However, she never closed the door on the possibility of dating men.

Candis decides to take her out to popular LGBT-friendly nightspot The Abbey. While there, Caitlyn enjoys the time with her friends, but the half-naked male dancers made her uncomfortable.

The next day, she opens up to her friend Jenny Boylan. She tells her friend how she felt about the male dancers and Jenny explained that their situations are similar. Jenny said that she transitioned into a woman but she still kept coming back to her wife. Even as a woman, she is only exclusively attracted to women and has decided to stay married to his wife. Jenny says that by using work and her advocacy to help the community as an excuse, Caitlyn is again running away from the issue instead of facing it.

“It would be attractive to me to have a guy treat me like a normal woman,” said Caitlyn. Jenny tells her that there is no need for anyone to treat her like a normal woman if she truly believes that’s what she is. Caitlyn ponders the advice and admits that the whole dating issue is terrifying for her.

She continues to discuss the subject with her fellow tansgender women. She learns all about the difficulties that all of them are facing but she remains optimistic. She encourages Candis to get back in the scene.

Candis decides to go to a professional matchmaker to help her find a date. Candis tries to force Caitlyn into it too but she holds back. Caityn clearly isn’t ready to put herself back in the dating scene but she accompanies Candis in her appointment. In a teaser for the upcoming episode, Caitlyn speaks about her ex-wife, Kris Jenner and how they have lost contact in the past several months.

In next week’s episode, Kris will visit Caitlyn for the first time since her transition, and they will have an emotional exchange. “I Am Cait” airs every Sunday at 9:00 pm EDT on E!.
