Hugh Jackman may return as the Wolverine in "X-Men: Apocalypse." The actor has confirmed that talks are ongoing with the producers but refused to divulge any details. He was last seen playing the role in the 2014 movie from the franchise.

Hugh Jackman has played a major role in most of the "X-Men" movies released so far and also made a big impact at the box office with "The Wolverine" solo movie. In an interview with HappySadConfused the actor confirmed that he is in talks to reprise his role in the upcoming movie.

The interview that lasted over thirty minutes covered a broad range of issues. The talk included Hugh Jackman starring in a small Broadway show called "The River" and the circumstances that led to him being cast as Wolverine. The actor also spoke about his father being his rock.

Speaking about his possible return as Wolverine in "X-Men: Apocalypse" the actor said that there are still a lot of unknowns about the franchise as a whole and the producers are reportedly trying to figure out how to integrate the whole "X-Men" world.

The producers have so far neither confirmed nor denied that Wolverine will be featuring in "X-Men: Apocalypse." It may be difficult for the producers to incorporate Hugh Jackman's character with all the young cast members like James McAvoy as Charles Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Magneto.

The young actors are all from the "X-Men: First Class" movie. This is a time period that has so far not featured Wolverine prominently. Hugh Jackman's character in "X-Men: days of Future Past" managed to get the main role due to the time travel element in the movie. The actor will also be seen in an untitled solo movie in 2017.

Some of the other cast members of "X-Men: Apocalypse" are Channing Tatum as Gambit, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Oscar Isaac as the main villain En Sabah Nur or Apocalypse. The main plot of the movie has still not been revealed by the producers.
