Hugh Jackman recalled how his character in “Pan” has somehow helped him get away from the paparazzi when he visited Disney World with his daughter. During his guest appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the Australian credited Blackbeard’s amazing makeup.

In the video below, Jackman tells Fallon that Blackbeard’s makeup in “Pan” basically hid his real identity. No one knew it was Hugh Jackman portraying the character because the makeup completely made him unrecognisable. So it reportedly really helped him when his daughter suddenly asked to go to Disney World for her birthday while "Pan" was still in production.

“While we’re making the film no one recognised me for four months," Jackman says, adding that it was one of the “greatest cover” when he accompanied his daughter to Disney World since he “didn’t get bothered at all.”

The actor says he was completely free of the paparazzi when he and his daughters and some friends walked around Disney World. He was a complete stranger to everyone there. Even when his 8-year old daughter decided to go on multiple rides on the water slide, the attendant didn’t know he was the famous Hugh Jackman.

The actor tells Fallon during his interview that he thought his identity was finally busted when the attendant stared at him in recognition. However, Jackman said the woman attendant, who he says was stoned at that time, only told him that he looked like a pirate.

Fallon then shares a photo of Jackman during his trip to Disney World, and it turns out he was wearing his “Pan” character’s beard. The actor was completely unrecognisable with Blackbeard’s facial hair.

In the same video interview, Jackman tells Fallon that even his own brother did not recognise him while they were watching “Pan.” He says his brother, halfway through the movie, turned to ask him why they’re watching the film to which Jackman pointed out his pirate character in the movie.

According to Cinema Blend, Jackman had to go undergo a drastic makeover through layers or costume and makeup for his role as Blackbeard in “Pan.” It’s no wonder no one recognised him even his own friends and family.
