There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the Huawei Mate 8 and a slew of pictures hinting at its looks. Now, we have six significant features of the flagship phablet that’s been revealed. Here’s a roundup:

The China-based smartphone OEM aims at promoting its products to resurgent markets in China and India where the demand for dual SIM devices is huge. This market fact justifies the company’s decision to install a dual 4G card slot in the Mate 8, a sought-after feature currently available in only a few elite phones, reports Technology News Extra.

There’s also been news that the company’s working on its next-generation Android-based skin, the EMUI 4.0 that’s likely to power the company’s top-tier smartphones. The Mate 8 falls under this category.

Though there’s no official announcement about the Emotion UI’s, it’s already running on a few devices like the Ascend 8, the Honor 6 Plus and the Mate 7. Therefore, the upcoming phablet’s expected to get the new configuration very soon.

News has it the Mate 8 will feature the HiSilicon Kirin 950 eight-core processor; four CortexA72 set at 2.4 GHz and four Cortex A57 set at 2 GHz designed to boost overall precision of the GPS at times of weak signals.

Every good thing comes at a cost, however, and it’s evident how the most powerful smartphones need to be charged twice or thrice daily to maintain battery life. The Huawei Mate 8, however, uses a 6000mAH new battery technology capable of running for longer hours despite high intensity of use. Unlike other phones, the new flagship has a pretty powerful battery that survives for longer without charging.

Quite exclusive, the smartphone is leveraged by IPS technology meant to enhance the backlit and night capabilities of the phone’s camera. The IPS functions by recognizing the colour of each pixel through “demosaicing”, a kind of colour sensing technology.
