Huawei has launched its flagship smartphone, the Honor 6, in August this year, and now the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer is prepping up an upgraded edition called the Honor 6 Plus. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus handset was showcased at TENNA, a regulatory body that is equivalent to FCC in the U.S. The handset is going to be officially unveiled on Dec. 16.

According to GSMDome, the Huawei Honor 6 Plus is a phablet device sporting a 5.5-inch full HD resolution supporting TFT display. The handset is powered by an octacore processor that delivers a clocking speed of 1.8 GHz. It is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. TENNA has not revealed if the handset features a Kirin brand processor from Huawei.

Running on Android v4.4.4 KitKat OS, the Honor 6 Plus will come in two storage versions: 16 GB and 32 GB. Its external storage will support up to 64 GB of microSD. The handset measures 150.4 x 75.68 x 7.5 mm and weighs 165 g.

The most unique feature and the USP of the Honor 6 Plus smartphone is the dual camera at the rear, which allows users to take advantage of 3D image capture and refocus on the snapped images. It may function like the duo camera present on the HTC One M8, states GSMDome.

Android Community reports that the Huawei Honor 6 Plus will be launched in two variants, the PE-UL00 and PE-TL10. There may be no difference in the tech specs of both devices, but they may be aimed toward different carriers. The Honor 6 Plus price has not been revealed yet and even the official release date is not yet known.

PhoneArena states that Huawei is also working on a high-end successor model for Ascend P7, which may come out in the market as Ascend P8. In the previous week, IBTimes has revealed the Huawei Ascend P8 specifications. The handset is expected to feature a premium build made up of metal and ceramics.
