The Huawei Honor 5X which debuted last month at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 in Las Vegas has gone on sale in Europe at £189.99 (AU$385 or US$276). Starting Jan.31, Huawei also launched the Honor 5X in the US for US$199.99 (AU$278).

The Honor 5X appeared on Huawei’s European online store, offering Silver, Gold and Gray models of the device. The website also offers a promotional deal for all those who sign up and proceed for purchase. The sign up bonus for Honor 5X is £20 (AU$40) and £10 off (AU$20) on the next purchase.

Customers from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland can purchase the Huawei Honor 5X directly from the online store.

The Honor 5X comes with a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x1080 pixels resolution. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with a 1.5 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, the smartphone houses 2GB of RAM. It offers 16GB of in-built storage which can be further expanded via microSD card slots.

A 13-megapixel main camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter are also part of the Honor 5X. There is a 3,000 mAh battery to keep the lights on.

According to GSM Arena, the company has also teased the launch of Huawei Honor 7 Premium Edition in Europe sometime soon. The enhanced version will most likely feature similar specs to that of the regular Honor 7.

In Europe, Huawei will offer the Honor 7 Premium Edition in Gold and Mystery Grey colour variants. The company is yet to announce the release date and price.

At the CES 2016, the company also announced the global launch of its much coveted Huawei Mate 8 smartphone. The 3GB/32GB variant of the Mate 8 costs 599 euros (AU$921) and the 4GB/64GB model comes with a price tag of 699 euros (AU$1075), as announced by Huawei.
