Huawei has updated its upper-midrange phablet lineup and added a new smartphone, the G7 Plus. With major improvements in the domain of display resolution and a powerful processor, it is positioned as the successor to the Huawei G7 of 2014.

The Huawei G7 Plus is now official in China. The smartphone has been listed by VMall, Huawei’s official online store. The device features a 5.5-inch IPS full-HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass, reports NDTV Gadgets.

The smartphone has 90 percent aluminum aviation grade chassis and comes in silver, gray and gold variants. The Huawei G7 Plus measures 152.5 x 76.5 x 7.5mm and weighs 167 grams.

Powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor and 3GB of RAM, the device offers 32 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128 GB.

Considering the massive 3 GB of RAM which is at par with the flagship Android devices, the smartphone can be of great interest for those who require more space and speed. The Huawei G7 Plus is also equipped with a large 3,000 mAh battery.

The smartphone touts a fingerprint sensor at the back, under the rear camera module. In the camera suite that device houses a 13 MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, an RGBW sensor and auto-focus along with a 5 MP front snapper.

The dual-SIM handset supports 4G LTE, 3G and Wi-Fi , Bluetooth and all the other standard connectivity features connectivity. The handset runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it. As reported by GSM Arena, the Huawei G7 Plus is expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in February 2016. It comes with a price tag of US$330 (approx. AU$467). Although, there is no information on the international availability of the device.
